Pass, Merit or Distinction?

Our task this morning was to check out these 3 UAL Year 1 FMP bodies of work. We were told that they were all different grades, one being pass, one being merit and the other being distinction. We then had to look through all three pieces of work and decide what we thought they were graded as.

From reading through this work about Colour In Fashion Photography, I felt this piece resembled a distinction, as she had shown development in her work, using other photographers work to develop her work and give her other ideas in how she could improve her work.

I thought this one matched up with a merit as it still had alot of work to show. However it just was not as developed as the one above. It didn't have as much analysis or research either.

number 2 also had a small sketchbook full of darkroom prints and a piece of glass work from a workshop.

For me, I felt this piece was the pass. I felt this because I did not think the student had put that much effort into the work. It felt as if she had put the minimum amount in.
