A Day In The Life

Lights: Light Trail Images- Shoot 1

This image was taken on one of the flyovers above the A38. I love the simplicity of this image, the lines give a relaxing feel, the way they are slightly curved.

This image was taken looking down a hill into Plymstock. I wanted to capture the nightlife in the background, aswell as the light trail of the car driving away from me. When planning to take this image, I did not realize how much of the road would be visible and I feel it slightly ruins my image. As the light on the road, takes your eyes off the main focus of the image, being the light trail.

I then retook the image as I wanted to get it right, I stood further back and did not have my exposure as high. I think this image looks a lot better as there is nothing distracting you from the main focus point and your eyes can now easily follow the light trail without the harsh light from the road catching your eye.

This is my favourite image from this shoot, the way I was able to capture two colours just makes the photograph alot more interesting to look at. I wanted to shoot from above, so that I could look down, making sure I had lines going in different directions, of different thicknesses.

One thing I struggled with on this shoot was because it was dark, I found it difficult making sure my tripod was at the right angle. As you can see in the image above, my tripod was slightly facing down too far, as I have too much road in the image and I have missed part of the light trail in the image.

The volume of lines works well in this image, however when looking closely I can see my image is slightly blurred. If i was to redo this shoot I would use a remote timer to reduce camera shake.
