The Future
Final Evaluation
The Future project was all linked to working with our clients. I chose the brief that worked with marine pollution, as living so close to the sea and having easy access to several beaches along the coastline. Having researched the issue with rubbish being washed up on local beaches, I never realised what a huge problem it was and how much it was damaging the wildlife and their habitat. I thoroughly enjoyed spending the afternoon at Whitsands Bay with a group of girls from college, exploring the beach and finding large amounts of debris that had been washed up. It hit me and made me realise how much of a problem this is becoming and we need to make a change. I think this project was well structured and offered an opportunity to diverge from photography and explore film and design and many other aspects of art and how art can be 2D, 3D and 4D. This was new to me, something we had not looked into in previous projects.
I have enjoyed this project alot more than I was expecting, I found myself really getting into it with research and analysis. I enjoyed working in the studio, taking images of what we had collected on the beach clean using a macro lens, capturing the detail within the objects.
For me, the most sucessful part of the project was the photographs I took on our day trip to Whitsands Bay. I will use my images from there to produce a final piece.Overall i think i did very well in this project and I engaged a lot more and kept up to date on everything that I needed to, if I was to do this project again I would look into more photographers that inspire me and then shoot in the style of their work.
