The Future

Still Life Macro Shoot 3D

Today we went through all the pieces of rubbish we had collected from Mount Edgcumbe and selected a piece which we wanted to photograph.

Here is my lighting diagram I created on the internet, showing how I set up my shoot.

Here is my contact sheet of images I took in the studio. I did not like photographing the bottle, as there were very strong shadows being picked up in the background, which I could not get rid off. I then chose a piece of frayed rope, as I wanted to focus on the detail on the ends. However, I found my images kept coming out either overexposed or underexposed. Lastly, I picked up a can to photograph. As the can was alot darker than the rope, I thought it would stand out nicely against the pink background. I managed to pick up some nice detail of the can, showing the different tones of orange within it.

Out of all of my images, these two were my favourite and caught my eye the most. The detail and texture within the can is rather eye catching along with the different tones. I like the way the rust is in focus, however the top of the can is rather blurred. It makes you focus on the detail of the rust.
