The Others
Fashion, Retouching and Digital Ethics
This morning as a group, we looked at a number of fashion photographers. I have chosen a couple of the photographers to research in more detail, that inspire me.
Cecil Beatin 1904-1980
Cecil Beaton is one of the best british portrait photographers of the twentieth century and is renowned for his images of elegance, glamour and style. His influence on portrait photography was profound and lives on today, in the work of many contemporary photographers including David Bailey and Mario Testino.

Nick Knight
Nick Knight is one of the worlds most influential fashion photographer. He has created amazing collaborations with leading designers such as Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Swarovski and Vogue. Nick Knight loves to capture the movement within the clothes, creating such texture within his images. I did some research into Nick Knight as i wanted to know what he thought about post production. Knight feels that the birth of digital photography and the power of Photoshop manipulation, have fuelled the publics suspicions where any distortion of reality is concerned. He once said in an interview, that post production is just away of having more control over your images and it creates many more possibilities for the photographer.
