Street Photography

Today, we went into Plymouth and had ago at street photography. I think street photography gives you the chance to encounter with the public. Having never done this type of photography before, i felt very out of my comfort zone and the thought of asking the public if i could take their photograph was a daunting thought. I wanted to take photos of people in action, as i wanted to capture their facial expressions because i think you can tell alot from that.

I tried to shoot in a similar way to Martin Parr. To do this I did not ask the man if i could take his image, i did not want him to see me, as he then may of felt slightly uncomfortable and i wanted to capture the passion in his face whilst singing. However, once I was happy with my images, i then asked the busker if he was happy if i used his photograph, which i showed him and explainned what i was using it for. Luckily he was fine about it and very friendly! Although, when being out on the streets i encountered alot of people that did not want their photograph taken. When editing my image, as I wanted my photograph to look similar to Martin Parr, i boosted the saturation in Photoshop.
