Peer Assessing

Peer assessing is so important. Firstly it helps to build my confidence when talking to people who i don't know very well. In the photography industry, this is essential to be able to do, as you will discuss your work to potential clients who may be interested in you, meaning you must feel comfortable doing this. Today, we were put into pairs. We were paired up with people who we wouldn't necessarily choose to be with. However, being pushed out of your comfort zone is good! When paired up, i showed my blog and facebook page to my partner, who then looked at both pages in detail. Suki then had to write abit about my work, what she liked, thought worked well and had to give me some constructive criticism, which helps me to then develop my work.

Suki firstly chose this image as one of her favourites. This is what she wrote about it:

'This image initially caught my attention because I thought a professional photographer had taken it. The silhouettes contrast is spot on, dark but with details showing, it made it better that it had been taken as part of a project to be sent to a model agency. The framing of the window is perfect and it is such an original idea. '

This was the second photo which Suki chose. Again, she wrote a small piece of writing, about this image.

'The second photo has really vivid colours screaming tumblr and autumn, it would be perfect for fashion advertising image as film cameras are becoming increasingly popular and the saturation of the colours is perfect.'

Overall, i was thoroughly pleased with what Suki had written about my work, it is such a confidence booster hearing someone speak so highly of your work! However, if i was to repeat this activity, i would like my partner to give me something to improve uponand give some constructive criticism, as there is always something which can be developed and improved.
