A Trip To The Barbican...

This morning we had an induction, working with the K1000 film cameras. We spoke about aperture and although i briefly knew about aperture, i did learn a few things which i did not know before! For example, a tiny aperture is where a smal amount of light is let through the camera. We also spoke about shutter speed, where i learnt that the shutter speed must be on a 60th of a second or faster, to freeze motion, else it will appeared blurred in the outcome. I also learnt that the needle must be between the + and - because otherwise the photograph will either come out overexposed, or underexposed. We then all walked down to the Barbican and in groups of three, we went off with our film camera and shot nine photos each. I was focusing on making sure i had the correct shutter speed, aperture and that my needle was in the correct place. Due to the fact this was only my second time using a film camera, i am expecting a few of my shots to come out slightly blurred, however the more i work with a film camera and try out different settings, the better i will become at using a film camera. It was good being able to experiment and try out different things using these film cameras and i cannot wait to see how the shots come out!
