Lighting Induction

Today i had my lighting induction, which i found very interesting, but there was so much information to take in! The two lights which we were shown how to use and set up were the LED Panel lights and the ARRI 300 Tungsten lights. We were shown how to handle the equipment safely and then we were allowed to experiment ourselves with the kit, to see what sort of effects the different type of lighting could create. We were told about white balance and our tutor introduced us to each one and explainned how they should be used. The three white balances which i played around with today were, tungsten, daylight and fluorescent. You can see from looking at the images above, how much differece the lighting makes. It showed me how important your lighting is, in order to get the perfect shot. This was also a good oppurtunity to get to know everyone in the class, as the photographer was having to communicate with the model, so there was no time to be shy!
